The Basics of Game Design
Workshop Overview
Our Game Design Workshop teaches participants about the basics of game design and the process of making a boardgame. These skills can be used to figure out how to gamify processes in your life, and equip participants with a deeper understanding of the behind-the-scenes processes of game design.
Learning Outcomes
Our workshop makes learning about the steps of board game design for youth and adults alike. By the end of the workshop, participants will gain an understanding of what entails in the board game design process, and insight into the history of tabletop games.
History of Board Games
Learn about the history and development of tabletop games and the different types of tabletop games.
Board Game Creation
Understand the process of making a board game and learn about the most efficient way to start designing a game.
Understand what makes a good game and a bad game.
Producing A Board Game
Find out how to create artwork for your game and where to get your game manufatured.
Workshop Format
This workshop is conducted in an Interactive-style format, where participants will first learn about how a board game is made as well as it's learning outcomes, and will then sit in tables of 2-5 people and design their game with materials provided by a game master.
The workshop runs for 3 hours, and requires a minimum of 20 pax.
