The History of Tabletop Games
Workshop Overview
Our Tabletop Appreciation Workshop teaches participants about the history of tabletop games and how to distinguish a good game from a bad one. These skills can be used to figure out how to gamify processes in your life, and give participants a valuable experience whether they are a beginner or seasoned board game player.

Learning Outcomes
Our workshop makes learning about the steps of board game design for youth and adults alike. By the end of the workshop, participants will gain an understanding of what entails in the board game design process, and insight into the history of tabletop games.
History of Tabletop
Learn about the history and development of tabletop games, what kinds of genres of tabletop games there are, and what mechanics they have.
Board Game Testing
Hands-on experience by playing different types of board games during the workshop.
Board Game Mechanics
Learn what makes a game good or bad through playing different types of games.
Understand more about game design mechanics.
Workshop Format

In this workshop, participants will first learn about the history of tabletop games as it's learning outcomes, and will then sit in tables of 2-5 people and play different types of tabletop games assisted by a game master.
The workshop runs for 1.5 hours, and requires a minimum of 20 pax. Each participant will receive a copy of a small game worth $22.
